To apply for the position, please click the Apply link/button. Hempstead Hall is a 65,000 square-foot event venue and conference center which can be configured to host all events: large or small. It offers space for cultural, artistic programming, educational or workforce training space, or a place to host business or community meetings or functions. Hempstead Hall staffing includes Director, Assistant Director and Technical Director. The Director reports to the Chancellor.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited institution, associate’s degree required. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Human Resource Director and the Chancellor.
Required three years significant event planning and event execution experience.
Extensive experience in building and maximizing public and private partnerships
Public and private fundraising experience.
Experience in the management and operation of a public facility, performing arts center.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and implements programs that will appeal to a broad spectrum of interests of Hempstead County and Southwest Arkansas residents and that will result in the diverse programming and event offerings.
Responsible for supervision of Hempstead Hall staff. Lead staff meetings and ensure proper meeting protocols are followed.
Research and recommend facility usage fees and appropriate usage guidelines and policies for Hempstead Hall. Set booking fees for meeting rooms, equipment, after-hours events, facilitators, security, and other related activities.
Organizes and directs the bookings and scheduling of events at Hempstead Hall.
Identifies external partners to secure private and public funding to develop and sustain Hempstead Hall events and facilities; Works independently and collaborates with the Office of Institutional Advancement and Marketing to obtain funding and sponsorships, and to promote and advertise events.
Collaborates with appropriate campus personnel to promote maximum educational benefit to students.
Contacts promoters and booking agents to market Hempstead Hall as a site for trade shows, concerts, conventions, and other civic, business and economic development, social, cultural, entertainment and education events.
Promotes strong and effective partnerships with the City of Hope, Hempstead County, and governments in surrounding areas, and with community organizations to encourage local use of Hempstead Hall.
Prepares budgets and purchase requisitions as required.
Prepares contracts and invoices, orders printing of tickets, and receives and accounts for ticket sales.
Compiles various statistical data for use in analyzing Hempstead Hall utilization.
Creates and implements plans to provide for the security of Hempstead Hall guests, facilities and equipment.
Ensures that Hempstead Hall is kept clean, the grounds and parking area neat, and the building properly maintained.
Performs other duties as required.
