Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Health Services to lead our nursing and health care operations across our main campus. This leadership role provides strategic and clinical oversight of the Health Services Department, ensuring quality care, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision. The Director also collaborates closely with medical providers and treatment teams to support student health and wellness.

  • Health Services Leadership & Oversight Supervise the nursing team, and medical billing staff.
  • Ensure medication storage, administration, and documentation practices meet all legal and licensing standards.
  • Maintain department staffing schedules, participate in on-call rotations, and ensure safe resident care across all shifts.
  • Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and Admissions Committee to provide expert clinical input and policy development.
  • Medical & Therapeutic Coordination Monitor residents’ health and medication plans in coordination with the consulting psychiatrist, pediatrician, neurologist, NP, and dietician.
  • Oversee physical exams, immunizations, and specialist appointments.
  • Provide guidance and input on dietary considerations, discharge planning, and quarterly health reviews.
  • Staff Supervision & Training Hire, orient, evaluate, and supervise nursing staff and department personnel.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and corrective action as needed to ensure professional performance and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly orientations and annual performance evaluations.
  • Regulatory, Fiscal & Administrative Responsibilities Ensure department functions within budget guidelines; approve payroll, purchases, and reimbursement requests.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with agency protocols and licensing requirements.
  • Lead health service-related emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and training programs.
  • Leadership & Collaboration Represent Health Services in senior leadership meetings and organizational planning.
  • Act as the Administrative Charge in the Executive Director’s absence.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure holistic, interdisciplinary care.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Indiana (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a nursing or healthcare leadership role
  • Ability to maintain a calm and effective demeanor in emergency and stressful situations
  • Ability to lead staff and manage departmental performance with professionalism
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality dynamic healthcare.
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards, regulatory compliance, and nursing best practices
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must maintain a valid RN license and CPR/First Aid Instructor certification
  • Ability to implement approved physical intervention techniques when necessary.
  • Willingness to work with residents in a variety of settings, including community outings
  • Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
  • Experience in pediatric, psychiatric, or residential treatment settings strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with child welfare systems is a plus
  • ARC CPR/First Aid Instructor certification highly desired
