About The Position

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services.   • A thorough knowledge of working with healthcare data, patient databases and other digital strategies to provide a deep insight into the functions of an organization
  • Bachelors, or Master’s degree (preferred) in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Science

Nice To Haves

  • RHIA, RHIT, CHDA, or related HIM/informatics certification.
  • Experience with behavioral health EHR platforms (e.g., Credible, Netsmart, SmartCare, CareLogic, Epic BH modules).
  • Knowledge of quality improvement frameworks and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the design, deployment, optimization, and ongoing management of the agency’s EHR and associated health information platforms.
  • Establish and maintain data governance practices that uphold data quality, accuracy, standardization, and organizational consistency.
  • Ensure documentation processes and workflows effectively support high‑quality behavioral health and SUD clinical care.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data standards, including forms, templates, terminology, and configuration across systems.
  • Guide the creation of dashboards, analytical tools, and reporting mechanisms used for quality improvement, outcomes tracking, utilization trends, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of federal and state behavioral health reporting requirements (e.g., SAMHSA, DPH, grant‑funded programs, payer data).
  • Direct system upgrades, enhancements, and interoperability initiatives to support evolving clinical and operational needs.
  • Lead collaborative, cross‑department efforts to refine workflows and promote effective adoption of technology solutions.
  • Supervise Health Information staff, including analysts, specialists, and EHR support personnel, ensuring strong performance and professional development.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical programs, operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment and efficient system use.
  • Offer training, technical guidance, and support to improve documentation quality and maximize system utilization.
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced EHR build, configuration, customization, and system administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, X12/EDI, and experience supporting HIE connections and API integrations.
  • Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational database structures and healthcare data models.
  • Skilled in business intelligence and reporting platforms, including Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or comparable tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehouse environments.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, identity and access management, and privacy/security safeguards required in healthcare.
  • Expertise in workflow automation, form and template development, and clinical decision‑support tools within EHR systems.
  • Experience coordinating system releases, upgrade cycles, testing procedures, and structured change‑management processes.
  • Ability to integrate EHR platforms with billing systems, telehealth tools, labs, pharmacies, and regulatory reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with role‑based access control, encryption technologies, logging/audit mechanisms, and related security tools.
