About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. Requirements

  • RHIT required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records required (EPIC preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • RHIA Preferred
  • Masters is preferred.
  • Two years of HIM experience in a leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform personnel management duties including screening and selection of medical records staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to Human Resources office.
  • Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer for facility.
  • Establish, maintain, and update the records, systems, and/or procedures necessary for protecting the confidentiality of medical records including release of information.
  • Supervise the assembly and analysis of discharged patient records and abstract information and data.
  • Coordinate on site audits and surveys of medical records functions conducted by funding and accrediting bodies.
  • Review and evaluate departmental policies and procedures annually.
