About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. Requirements

RHIT required.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience with electronic medical records required (EPIC preferred).

Nice To Haves

RHIA Preferred
Masters is preferred.
Two years of HIM experience in a leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform personnel management duties including screening and selection of medical records staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to Human Resources office.
Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer for facility.
Establish, maintain, and update the records, systems, and/or procedures necessary for protecting the confidentiality of medical records including release of information.
Supervise the assembly and analysis of discharged patient records and abstract information and data.
Coordinate on site audits and surveys of medical records functions conducted by funding and accrediting bodies.
Review and evaluate departmental policies and procedures annually.
