The Hotel Director of Group Sales leads the property's group sales efforts, driving revenue by developing strategies, building client relationships, and achieving targets for meetings, conventions, and events, focusing on high-value corporate and association segments for occupancy and profitability. Key responsibilities include creating sales plans, managing budgets, negotiating contracts, overseeing sales activities (prospecting, site tours), reporting on metrics, and collaborating across departments (marketing, operations, HR) to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfaction. Sales Strategy : Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals and market share, focusing on corporate, convention, and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) markets. Team Leadership : Recruit, train, manage, and motivate the group sales team, setting goals, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability. Revenue Maximization : Drive bookings for rooms and event spaces, setting aggressive personal goals, and managing pricing and yield strategies. Client & Account Management : Build strong, long-term relationships with key clients, prospect new accounts, conduct site inspections, and negotiate contracts. Operations & Collaboration : Work with Convention Services, Marketing, and other departments to ensure successful event delivery, from booking to execution. Budget & Reporting : Manage sales budgets, forecast revenue, analyze sales data, and report on performance against targets.
