About The Position

The Director of Golf position supports all aspects of Episcopal’s golf programs for boys and girls, the School’s use of the Class of 1976 Golf Center to support students and adults in the Episcopal community, and golf-related programming for the external community. It combines hands-on instruction and coaching with administrative and program management of all of Episcopal’s golf activities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Experienced PGA Member in good standing and active classification
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in creating, administering, supervising, and implementing programs for all ages
  • Self-motivated with desire to promote and market Episcopal’s golf programs
  • Proficient in use of Trackman and Swing Catalyst software and equipment
  • Comfortable using computer-based programs including the Google suite, Microsoft Office, and other applications (i.e., email, internet, and database needs)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Strong initiative and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaborative skills and open support for the School's core values, especially its focus on community and inclusion, honesty, and integrity

  • Ability to instruct and model golf swings

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Athletic Director to oversee the boys’ and girls’ golf teams and manage the strategic direction of Episcopal’s interscholastic golf program.
  • Partner with the Athletic Director to ensure proper staffing for the interscholastic golf program.
  • Directly support scholastic programs as needed, depending on staffing requirements or the evolving needs of the School. This may include serving as part of the coaching staff for the interscholastic program and off-site travel.
  • Partner with Student Life to provide golf opportunities and programming for Episcopal students, faculty, staff, and families.
  • Oversee the lesson, instruction, and use schedule for Episcopal student and community use of Golf Center, prioritizing Episcopal golf, particularly during the spring competitive season.
  • Develop partnerships with area golf courses to increase access and tee times for the Episcopal’s boys and girls golf teams.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Class of 1976 Golf Center to ensure proper use, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Serve as a direct point of contact with all technology partners and software vendors to ensure proper use and maintenance of hardware and software in the Class of 1976 Golf Center.
  • Partner to determine golf equipment needs with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities & Equipment.
  • Develop and manage operational plans with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to generate auxiliary revenue and enhance the School’s presence and brand in the community via private lessons, bay rentals, memberships, events, and other potential programming opportunities.
  • Partner with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to review monthly financial reports and develop accurate forecasts, maintaining proactive oversight of the golf center budget and resource allocation.
  • Partner with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to design and deliver unique summer camp offerings as part of Episcopal’s Summer Programs.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the School Store to develop and manage possible merchandise concession needs.
  • Manage Golf Center social media accounts with relevant and timely content.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for golf programming and facility use.
  • Participate in special assignments and projects as needed to improve ​auxiliary operations (i.e.​, safety, accreditation, committees, etc.)
