The Director of Global Sourcing for the Marketing Category at News Corp is responsible for leading the delivery of annual productivity savings and working capital impact across the category. This role involves developing and executing a complete Category Strategy for Marketing Procurement, collaborating with key stakeholders, and managing supplier relationships. The position requires a strong focus on strategic sourcing engagements, data-driven decision-making, and effective communication with C-level executives. The Director will also mentor and develop teams, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the delivery of annual YOY productivity savings & working capital impact across the category owners.
  • Develop, execute, and implement a complete Category Strategy for the Marketing Procurement category.
  • Follow structured project management methods to execute complex, long-term category management and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations following Global Sourcing methodologies.
  • Manage Category cards detailing overall category strategies and ensure category health is tracking per strategy/goals/plan.
  • Build strong partnerships with key budget owners, functional stakeholders, and strategic suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis.
  • Manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, and contract analysis.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies and maintain procurement ethics.
  • Mentor, develop, motivate, and coach teams to work collaboratively and effectively.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of global strategic sourcing experience in the Marketing category.
  • Supplier management experience working with Marketing agencies.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated track record of people management leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading cross-cultural teams.
  • Minimum 3 years of procurement transformation experience.
  • Strong project management skills and adherence to stakeholder timelines.
  • Expert understanding of multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies.
  • Experience in using eSourcing tools including eRFx, reverse auctions, and project management tools.
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization.
  • Understanding of legal terms and implications; ability to redline contracts aligned with legal guidelines.
  • Contract drafting experience and excellent understanding of contractual terms.
