About The Position

SAR High School is looking to hire an experienced senior educator to join its administrative team for the 2026-2027 school year as Director of General Studies. As a member of the school’s administrative team, the Director of General Studies (DGS) will be responsible for all aspects of the General Studies program including hiring of faculty, implementation and management of the general studies program, staff supervision, class placement of students, parent communications, professional development across disciplines, technology integration, and strategic planning with department chairs. The DGS will be a strong presence around the school, voicing school policies and communicating ethical standards for the school community. The DGS will lead by building strong connections with individual students, parents and faculty, and working collaboratively with these constituencies to further SAR’s mission. In keeping with SAR High School’s model, all administrators teach, and the DGS will bring the same level of excellence to the classroom as to their administrative leadership.
