About The Position

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will serve as a senior support resource that will be responsible for establishing and implementing various metric-driven financial planning and analysis processes to support High Five’s strategic goals and objectives. A successful candidate will be motivated to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to standardize practice operations with a primary focus on high quality patient care, and utilizing data driven analysis to enhance decision-making with a keen focus towards growing the business and its profitability. This position requires a strong understanding of, and the ability to confidently and concisely communicate, financial principles, key metric drivers, the value of operational change, and best practices used to enhance operating behaviors within the organization. The Director role works closely with all levels of clinical operating leadership and executive management to increase High Five’s operating efficiency and clinical profitability by assisting with the formulation of both the medium and long-term financial plan. The Director will be responsible for strategic financial analysis, cashflow modeling, and clinical forecasting/budgeting all within a lens towards developing efficient financial operations. The Director and FINOPS team will partner directly with practice managers to effect change, and support in doctor strategy discussions with the SVP of Strategic Operations & Planning. This role will drive a culture of accountability and performance and collaborate with other departments to ensure that the organization's efforts are aligned with the company's overall strategy. Further, the Director will serve as a key advisor and peer to two FP&A Analysts; working to further develop their skillset and business evaluation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA, CPA, CFA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, data analytics, and/or corporate finance. Experience with multi-site dental healthcare operations a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will have a mix of accounting and financial planning background, with a proven track record of employing analysis to influence senior-level decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Ability to build complex models that focus on financial outcomes the grow company profitability, including M&A, denovo, or expansion opportunities for same-store business.
  • Experience developing and delivering executive level content and presentations.
  • Strong communicator and partner to all associate levels within the organization with a proven ability to develop complex financial data that can be easily communicated across functions and departments.
  • Ability to analyze operating metrics and operational data to connect to financial outcomes, and confidence to explain simply to others.
  • Demonstrated leadership, business acumen and project management experience.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Be a thought leader, advisor, and partner to the SVP of Strategic Operations & Planning, as the organization expands, spearheading projects as they arise and helping upskill a leading-edge central support team.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple strategies at once that focus on operational excellence and profit expansion.
  • Design and implement key internal reporting and operational processes aimed at providing relevant and actionable information to all levels of the organization in the appropriate form.
  • Drive, as-needed, financial modeling, providing clear financial insights that help operations management gauge trade-offs and implications of different strategic alternatives focused on optimized performance.
  • Develop and implement process to measure ROI on strategic investments to insure effectiveness of capital allocation decisions.
  • Support the development of junior team members to increase their financial acumen to identify trends and develop knowledge of organizational strategies that enhance company earning streams.
  • Identification of medium-and-long-term opportunities for expense efficiency & capital efficiency through leveraging insights from various capital models to be developed internally.
  • Lead clinical budget preparation and in-year financial forecasting of revenue, operating and capital expense.
  • Perform post-audit activities on strategic investments.
  • Partner effectively with field operating leadership and practice managers as a primary facilitator for quarterly business reviews with a focus on opportunities and risks that may impact forecasted performance.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and present financial reporting and analysis.
  • Protects the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
