As the Director of Football Operations, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting Duke Football by ensuring seamless daily operations, strong communication, and an exceptional student-athlete experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of football operations experience (Division I experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Requires the ability to manage operational and administrative activities related to the athletics industry, generally acquired through three years of experience in athletics operations, running an athletics department, and/or operations management at a high corporate level. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience strongly preferred
  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for game operations staff.
  • Attend weekly and monthly ACC meetings (via Zoom) as required.
  • Attend bowl selection meetings, bowl site visits, and required game-related meetings with the Chief of Staff.
  • Communicate away-game schedules and logistics to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee all team travel preparation, including: Flights (menus and seat assignments) Hotel accommodations (rooming lists and banquet event orders) Bus scheduling for team travel and daily activities
  • Coordinate team attendance for travel in partnership with the Director of Player Development.
  • Serve as liaison to the Team Dietician to coordinate: Preseason camp meals Pre-departure snacks Post-game meals
  • Act as the primary point of contact between football student-athletes and Dining Services.
  • Oversee the football operations staff.
  • Support internal onboarding and offboarding for football staff, including: Teamworks communications and messaging Office space coordination Communication with Equipment, IT, Facilities, and other Athletics partners
  • Support recruiting and football operations initiatives as needed.
  • Monitor football facility needs and report issues to the Chief of Staff.
  • Manage all football housing processes, including applications, room selection, and stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as liaison with the Bursar and Compliance regarding player scholarship stipends and resolve related issues.
  • Lead communication with parents and parent organizations.
  • Assist with planning and execution of the annual Football Awards Show, including coordination with Operations and guest list management.
