About The Position

The Director of Food & Nutrition at Select Specialty Hospital - Miami Lakes is responsible for overseeing the food service and nutritional care operations for chronically and critically ill patients. Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • Current state Dietitian licensure/certification, if required by state.
  • Five or more years in a management capacity in a Food and Nutrition department or healthcare food service department.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to ensure overall operations of food service and nutritional care are met.
  • Perform inspections of all assigned areas to uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Provide direct supervision of Food and Nutrition Service personnel.
  • Establish effective relationships with medical personnel and other patient care services.
  • Manage all areas of the department, including budget, food purchasing, and food production.
  • Prepare and provide in-services for departmental personnel regularly.
  • Calculate menus according to diet orders and nutritional needs of patients.
  • Teach and counsel patients and their families.
  • Schedule personnel in the department.
