About The Position

Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities. Under administrative direction, the Director of Financial Aid holds primary responsibility for the effective operation of the Financial Aid Department by managing personnel, establishing expectations, monitoring productivity, and leading continuous improvement of departmental operations to ensure a high standard of service to students. They are also responsible for administering Federal, state and local financial aid programs in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. They will serve as a confidential employee devoting a majority of time to assisting and acting in a confidential capacity as a person who formulates, determines and implements management policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Education Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year experience in higher education, accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to read and interpret state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, collaborative, and basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and three years’ experience in accounting or management of post-secondary institution financial aid program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret federal and state regulations.
  • Establish, implement and revise policies and procedures as they relate to the application process, student eligibility for aid, the award process, disbursements, refunds and repayments, academic progress and appeals.
  • Maintain state and federal funding allocations, monitor expenditure, complete required reports and determine allocations for following fiscal year.
  • Construct cost attendance budgets to determine the total aid students will be able to receive.
  • Supervises and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Establish and monitor financial aid goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and monitor department budget, request increases in personnel, equipment expenditure and travel allowance.
  • Maintain records, receipt income, determine recipients and request checks.
  • Update consumer information.
  • Coordinate and modify financial aid registration process.
  • Assist with the formulation of the institutional strategic plan.
  • Provide information to state legislatures regarding financial aid legislation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
