About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Director of Finance who will be overseeing the financial management of Christian Family Solutions and its affiliated entities, ensuring fiscal sustainability and operational efficiency. This leadership role is responsible for financial administration, accounting, client billing, third-party reimbursements, and investment management. Serving as a key advisor to the CEO and Leadership Team, the Director of Finance provides data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. With oversight of financial operations across multiple areas, this position manages budgeting, financial planning, and cost control to maintain a strong operating margin. The role requires a blend of financial expertise and mission-driven leadership to support our ministry-focused framework. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in financial strategy, compliance, and team leadership within a multi-state, non-profit organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Proven expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and proforma analysis for a multi-location, multi-state organization.
  • Experience managing fund accounting, grant reporting, and third-party reimbursements in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
  • Ability to coordinate and complete all fiscal reporting activities for the organization.
  • Skilled in negotiating contracts with vendors, contractors, and others.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to build reports using a variety of financial tools including Excel.
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills needed to provide fiscal control for a diverse set of services.
  • Prior experience with Matrix Care accounting software preferred.
  • Advanced strategic thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, payer contracts, and reimbursement structures.
  • Ability to develop and communicate financial insights to executives, board members, and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in all record keeping, and ability to work independently and possess good organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment required with clean driving record and auto insurance that meets CFS requirements.
  • Ability to travel to various CFS locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and forecasting by developing and implementing financial strategies, monitoring trends and anticipating risks and opportunities.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process, ensuring financial sustainability and operational alignment is met across multiple departments.
  • Overseeing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, audits, tax filings (including federal/state payroll tax filings), and regulatory compliance.
  • Developing and ensuring financial transparency, integrity, and adherence to sound fiscal policies through maintaining accurate and complete financial records in accordance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and healthcare financial regulations.
  • Establishing and enforcing effective labor and expense controls to optimize resource utilization, working closely with department leaders and the HR team to analyze and manage staffing costs, productivity, and financial impact.
  • Preparing and presenting on financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors and leadership team, translating financial data into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations to drive sustainable long-term goals.
  • Overseeing investment portfolio management, ensuring prudent decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Maintaining banking and insurance relationships, negotiating lines of credit and financial services as needed, and managing the annual liability insurance renewal process.
  • Overseeing the facilities and operations teams in the management of all owned and leased facilities, ensuring building safety efforts are compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Leading and mentoring the finance and facilities team ensuring a culture of accountability and continuous improvement with leaders in clinical operations, HR, IT, and business development to support financial success.
