Join us as Director of Finance Leading the US Finance function across financial control, product control, and business partnering, ensuring accurate and forward‑looking financial insight for NatWest Markets US business Delivering a strong control environment and high‑quality financial reporting, while providing strategic finance partnership to trading, sales, PCM, and senior leadership teams in both the US and UK Acting as a key delegate to the CFO of NatWest Markets Securities Inc., presenting regularly to senior stakeholders across the US, UK, and Group Finance leadership What you'll do As Director of Finance, you’ll provide strategic direction and leadership to the Financial Control, Product Control, and Business Partnering teams, building a high‑performing, diverse, and resilient US Finance function. You’ll establish priorities, performance metrics, and cultural expectations aligned with Group governance while shaping the financial strategy for the US Markets business. You’ll serve as a senior advisor to the CFO of NatWest Markets Securities Inc., represent Finance in regulatory interactions and external audits, and champion a strong risk culture and compliance. Moreover, you’ll ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the US ledger, financial statements, and regulatory reporting, lead internal and external audit engagement, prepare Board and audit committee materials, and oversee IFRS and US GAAP application and accounting advisory. We’ll look to you as well to maintain a robust control environment across reconciliations, disclosures, valuations, and intercompany activity, while leading Finance involvement in major change initiatives and driving technology stack upgrades by closely working with the US and Global Technology teams. You’ll also oversee Product Control activities to ensure Trading P&L is accurate, complete, and reconciled to the ledger, including P&L attribution and Greek-based explanation processes. Have a deep understanding of Valuation and Fair Value Measurement Hierarchy leveling concepts and ensure appropriate challenges are provided to the business. Furthermore, you’ll manage the relationship with Edinburgh P&L Production, ensuring accurate allocation of transaction costs, funding charges, and desk-level profitability, and collaborating across Finance teams to deliver integrated P&L and balance sheet insight. In addition, you’ll be: Serving as the single point of contact for all finance-related matters for the front office Leading management information, forecasting, budgeting, and forward‑looking planning Partnering with Global FP&A and US P&L teams to ensure revenue recognition accuracy Driving engagement with Risk to ensure P&L attribution is in line with risk measurement, VAR back testing and FRTB efforts Delivering insight into RWA, leverage, balance sheet usage, liquidity, and profitability Leading cost management activities and efficiency initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of multi‑disciplinary finance functions in global markets or banking, supported by expertise across Financial Control, Product Control, Accounting Policy, and Business Partnering
  • Strong understanding of Markets products, including derivatives, securities financing, FX, DCM, and rates, along with a strong understanding of P&L Greeks and risks
  • Deep knowledge of Valuation and Fair Value Measurement Hierarchy topics, and Stress Testing in a addition to solid knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and capital and liquidity regulatory frameworks
  • Experience working directly with regulators, auditors, and Boards, as well as a proven track record of building and developing strong teams
  • Strategic thinker with strong influencing skills
  • A strong control mindset and the ability to challenge constructively
  • A commercial mindset with forward‑looking analytical capability
  • The ability to manage processes with a heavy reliance on internal service providers
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • To be a qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or an equivalent designation

Responsibilities
