About The Position

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Finance will serve as a key strategic and operational finance leader at Labviva. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced growth environment and wants to build and scale world-class finance and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in building, improving, and scaling finance operations across a growing organization, and will inspire confidence through credibility, rigor, and a bias toward continuous improvement. You will own the full spectrum of financial operations—from accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, and insurance—while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive data-driven decision-making across the business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Prior experience at a high-growth SaaS or technology company; startup or Series A–C experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in FP&A, GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven track record of managing audits, tax compliance, statutory reporting, and treasury/insurance functions.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets; advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency required.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on the accounting and financial implications of equity fundraising, debt financing, and commercial agreements.
  • Proven ability to produce timely and accurate results within tight timeframes while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail and a desire to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Background in life sciences, healthcare technology, or B2B SaaS environments
  • Audit experience at a Big 4 or other nationally recognized public accounting firm strongly preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or comparable ERP systems; prior experience standing up or migrating ERP systems is a significant plus. Experience with integrating AI into financial operations is a significant plus
  • Familiarity with equity accounting solutions (e.g., Carta, Pulley) and FP&A platforms such as Mosaic, Pigment, or Adaptive Insights.
  • Experience supporting fundraising rounds, investor due diligence, or M&A transactions.
  • Marketplace or e-commerce platform experience is a plus, given Labviva’s supplier marketplace model.
  • International finance or multi-entity/multi-jurisdiction experience is a plus.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Own the annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning process, working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations.
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, financial models, and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Build and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages—including budget-to-actual analyses—with actionable insights for the CEO, CFO, and Board.
  • Define, track, and communicate key financial and operating metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, burn rate, gross margin), identifying trends and risks proactively.
  • Partner with department heads to build departmental budgets, monitor spend, and drive accountability against plans.
  • Provide across the company sound financial guidance l on purchasing decisions and contract negotiations, ensuring financial discipline is consistent across the organization.
  • Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Responsible for all accounting activities, including hands-on responsibility for technical accounting, audit, tax, statutory reporting, treasury, and insurance.
  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and month-end/year-end close. This includes oversight of 3 direct reports as well as an internationally-based financial operations team.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and provide hands-on support to the accounting team across AP, G/L, and payroll as necessary, including performing period-end reviews to ensure accurate and complete financial records
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, including statutory reporting obligations.
  • Lead the audit process, including interfacing directly with external auditors to ensure transparent and complete audit outcomes.
  • Strengthen existing internal financial control systems and propose, create, and maintain internal control policies to support scale and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with banking partners, external accountants, and financial service vendors, and equity management vendors.
  • Tax & Compliance
  • Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance including income tax, sales tax, and R&D tax credits, in coordination with external tax advisors.
  • Oversee transfer pricing, international tax matters, and any multi-jurisdictional tax obligations as the company scales globally.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements relevant to a Series C technology company.
  • Treasury, Insurance & Cash Management
  • Manage the company’s cash position, working capital, and treasury operations to ensure adequate liquidity at all times.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and support fundraising and capital allocation activities as needed.
  • Manage the company’s insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate coverage across general liability, D&O, E&O, cyber, and other relevant policies.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with banking and financial institution partners.
  • Systems, Process & Technology
  • Lead the setup, administration, and ongoing optimization of ERP (Ideally with SAP) and related financial systems to drive continual improvements in process and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party financial tools (e.g., FP&A software, expense management platforms) with a mindset of leveraging technology to automate and scale.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement—proactively identifying opportunities to streamline processes, introduce AI and automation, reduce manual effort, and improve data accuracy across the finance function.
  • Strategic Finance & Leadership
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CFO and executive team on business strategy, growth investments, pricing, and financial structuring.
  • Support investor relations activities including board reporting, investor materials, and due diligence processes for future fundraises.
  • Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration and financial literacy both inside and outside of finance.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team as the company scales, including on and off-site team members.
