About The Position

The Director of Finance serves as the operational leader of the Finance team and reports directly to the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), working in close partnership to support the Ministry’s financial strategy and operations. This role oversees key financial functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance, while ensuring strong internal controls and effective stewardship of resources. As a member of the Ministry-Wide Leadership Team, the Director of Finance provides leadership, direction, and mentorship to finance staff while aligning financial practices with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting/finance experience and three (3) years of leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, HRIS systems, Sage Intacct or similar ERP, budgeting software).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated Christian background and commitment to the Ministry’s mission and values.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or IDD environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily Finance operations, including monthly and quarterly close, payroll, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), Medicaid billing, and fixed assets.
  • Partner with the CFO to lead the annual budgeting process and prepare and evaluate quarterly financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, including oversight of financial controls and reporting processes.
  • Serve as the operational lead for the annual financial audit and primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of Medicaid cost reports and other required fiscal reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for process improvement, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage financial systems and serve as a system administrator for key financial software platforms.
  • Lead quarterly financial reviews with regional leadership and support organizational decision-making.
  • Oversee accounting for the Echoing Hills Village Foundation, including donations and related financial activity.
  • Mentor and develop Finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Participate in leadership initiatives, audits, committees, and Ministry activities as needed.
