About The Position

The Director of Finance oversees the accounting operations of the company and is responsible for the production of financial reports at the direction of the President | CEO. This role leads internal finance execution and partners with outsourced tax preparation and general accounting support and the President | CEO for strategic guidance. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Management experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • Strong leadership, technology, analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and aptitude for current regulatory and compliance practices
  • Exclusion from the System for Award Management (SAM) List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) prior to hire and ongoing throughout their tenure at the company. Inclusion in the LEIE is grounds for immediate dismissal
  • Complete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accounting systems, procedures, controls, and reports necessary for recording financial transactions, control of assets, financial information, and preparation of tax returns by an outside accounting firm.
  • Prepare monthly internal financial statements and reports as directed by the President to support management initiatives and strategies.
  • Leading day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Assist with the development of the Annual Budget as directed by the President.
  • Monitor the annual budget and provide monthly reporting on adherence.
  • Manage accounts payable by overseeing payables input and directing payment disbursement.
  • Manage record keeping regarding cash receipt journal, receipts against billing reconciliation, and manage daily bank deposits.
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain short-term cash forecasts to support effective working capital management.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of accounts receivable invoices with the goal of invoice distribution within 24 hours of project completion.
  • Review new customer credit applications and establish credit levels; supervise the collection of past due accounts.
  • Oversees the preparation of the monthly Sales and Use tax reports, maintains the customer exemption certificates
  • Oversees regulatory reporting and coordinating tax compliance activities with external advisors.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll preparation and review payroll tax deposits and relevant reports.
  • Works with the Human Resources Department to research, develop and maintain employee benefits including, but not necessarily limited to 401K retirement plan, health, vision and dental benefits, life, and disability insurance.
  • Maintain and renew insurance policies including Worker’s Compensation, Officer Life, Auto, and all other Liability policies. Assist in the annual renewal of Health Insurance and related benefits.
  • Coordinates activities of external auditors.
  • Assesses current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
  • Evaluates accounting and internal control systems.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting tools, as needed.
  • Hires, trains, and retains highly skilled accounting staff.
  • Provides management with clear, actionable financial information to support decision-making.
  • Supports leadership with financial reporting and operational insights, in partnership with leadership.
  • Maintain good standing with various business licenses as required.
  • Maintains the highest level of security and confidentiality as defined by company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President | CEO.
