About The Position

The Director of Financial Operations and Reporting is responsible for leading and overseeing financial operations and reporting across the organization. This role involves strategic decision-making support through financial analysis, compliance with accounting policies, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The Director plays a crucial role in forecasting, long-term planning, and managing audit requirements, while also collaborating with various teams to enhance financial performance and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of system-consolidated financial statements on a monthly basis, including all entries and account reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with system accounting policy, GAAP, and FASB pronouncements.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial and statistical data for the CFO and operations leadership to support effective decision-making.
  • Identify strategic growth and cost savings opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop accounting policies while ensuring procedures validate financial reporting compliance.
  • Collaborate with the CFO, finance team, and operations leadership to develop and monitor effective internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Interface and coordinate with external audit firms on all GAAP matters.
  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and appropriate scheduling.
  • Prepare accurate and timely audit support and work-papers.
  • Lead tax filing and preparation of all 990's, Medicare Cost Report, and other state and federal filings, coordinating with external accounting and tax experts.
  • Manage treasury functions as directed by the CFO, including cash levels and investment account reconciliations.
  • Develop training, resources, and programs regarding financial and accounting issues for operational leaders.
  • Champion the development and analysis of rolling quarterly forecasts and assist in monitoring performance against the forecast.
  • Research technical issues to maintain financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and FASB pronouncements.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure appropriate documentation of accounting issues for the CFO and external auditors.
  • Interface with internal and external computer services to meet financial accounting, control, and reporting needs.
