The Controller is responsible for directing and coordinating all accounting and IT operations of the company. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Business Office, which includes activities related to Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, Billing, Purchasing, Information Technology, and Front Desk. The Controller maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. They coordinate and prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, assist with budget preparation and presentation, and monitor daily cash balances in operating and investment accounts to ensure appropriate cash flow for the organization’s operations. The Controller also oversees fiscal year-end close and annual audits, advises on financial accounts and investments, and recommends benchmarks to measure the company’s performance. Additionally, they assist with the selection of equipment, software, and services necessary to support business operations, analyze asset purchases, and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets. The role requires effective communication, conflict resolution, and adherence to DECI, ISO 9001, and CARF policies/procedures.
