Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance to join our team. This role will be pivotal in building and leading our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function, providing critical financial insights to drive business decisions, and contributing to the efficiency of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment. This position will directly report to the CFO and manage one direct report.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on FP&A.
  • Proven experience in building and leading an FP&A function.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop direct reports.
  • Experience with monthly close processes.
  • Experience with budget creation and forecasting.
  • Experience with the creation of financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the FP&A function, including the development of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes and reporting.
  • Assist the accounting team with the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and related reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support audits and other compliance activities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior management, providing financial expertise and guidance.
  • Evaluate and analyze potential business opportunities and investments.
  • Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track business performance.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
