About The Position

The Director of Finance at Crescent Hotels & Resorts is responsible for leading the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring profitability, compliance with regulations, and providing guidance and support to management. This role involves maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow, and safeguarding the assets of owners and investors. The Director will also focus on training and developing finance associates to cultivate talent within the organization.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years' experience as a Hotel Director of Finance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in P&L composition, forecast accuracy, budgeting, and cash management.
  • Prior experience with Marriott systems is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and self-starting personality.
  • Knowledge of departmental operations and business law.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local taxes, and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Knowledge of insurance, employee benefits, and workers' compensation claims.

  • Experience in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Familiarity with hospitality financial software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ethical and consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel.
  • Supply management with guidance, training, and support.
  • Focus on the profitability of the business and maintain accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Safeguard owners/investors assets.
  • Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions.
  • Notify management of any financial deviations from established policies.
  • Manage and communicate cash flow related issues to management and ownership.
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording according to guidelines.
  • Investigate variances to budget or prior year and offer improvement strategies.
  • Assist management with capital planning and evaluation of capital improvements.
  • Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses, permits, and operational taxes.
  • Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets with management participation.
  • Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a timely basis.
  • Audit all internal financial controls including purchasing and cash handling.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop finance staff.
  • Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards and regulations.
  • Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of IT systems and equipment.
  • Prepare all financial reports in accordance with CHR requirements.
  • Review and submit Daily Revenue Reports and Labor Reports.
  • Distribute and discuss weekly G/L reports with department managers.
  • Update GM on unfavorable financial issues impacting the month.
  • Ensure sufficient cash to meet scheduled obligations.
  • Count the main vault and ensure all banks are counted.
  • Review financial controls checklist for compliance.
  • Participate in monthly Credit Meetings and review forecasts with Department Heads.
