About The Position

The Director of Finance at Norfolk Waterside Marriott is responsible for overseeing the hotel's accounting and financial management. This role involves managing the accounting department, providing timely financial information to the General Manager, and assisting with cost containment and revenue enhancement strategies. The Director acts as the Executive Finance Representative, coordinating financial reporting and ensuring effective financial controls are in place to safeguard the hotel's assets.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting department and procurement function.
• Provide the General Manager with timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist with cost containment, revenue enhancement, and profit improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate the preparation of the property Forecast of Expenses and Revenues.
• Act as the main point of contact for budget, forecast, and labor tracking.
• Ensure proper financial controls are in place and monitor their effectiveness.
• Coordinate budget preparation with full involvement from Department Heads.
• Administer daily financial operations including posting payments and processing returned checks.
• Prepare and run write-off meetings at the end of the month.
• Train associates in the Accounting department on job duties and responsibilities.
