About The Position
The Director of Finance and HR at Riverside Church is a pivotal leadership role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, primarily focusing on the church's financial operations, human resources, facilities management, and special projects. This position is designed for a strategic thinker who can implement effective operational support to help the church achieve its mission and vision. The Director will serve as the financial champion for Riverside Church, ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and stewardship in all financial matters. In the finance domain, the Director will be responsible for developing and managing the church's annual budget, monitoring financial performance, and preparing regular financial reports for church leadership and the congregation. This role also includes overseeing accounts payable and receivable, coordinating annual audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Director will provide long-term financial planning and advise church leadership on financial strategies, while also identifying opportunities for growth in financial giving and engaging with donors to foster generosity within the congregation. In terms of human resources, the Director will oversee the onboarding process for new staff, manage the employee review process, and develop HR policies to ensure compliance with employment laws. The role also involves administering employee benefits programs and conducting annual reviews to recommend changes as necessary. Facilities management is another key responsibility, where the Director will ensure the maintenance and upkeep of church facilities, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate capital projects. Additionally, the Director will lead special initiatives and projects as assigned by the Executive Pastor, assist with major church events, and maintain the church's member database to ensure accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a commitment to the mission of Riverside Church, and a high level of integrity and professionalism. This role is essential for the operational success of the church, requiring a blend of financial acumen, HR expertise, and facilities management experience.
