The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Director of Field Operations within the Office of Facilities Management. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Facilities, the Director of Field Operations is responsible for managing the daily operations of building maintenance, custodial services, and groundskeeping across all Newark Board of Education facilities. The Director coordinates staff, prioritizes work orders, oversees preventive maintenance plans, and ensures that all work aligns with applicable health, safety, and building regulations. This role serves as a key liaison between schools, central office departments, and external vendors to ensure buildings are safe, clean, operational, and supportive of student learning.
