About The Position
The department is accepting applications for the Director of Field Experience. The department is committed to staffing that proportionally represents the growing diversity of the student body. The Director is a 12-month position with multiple responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: Develop relationships with community organizations to become partners in educating Siena social work students. Recruit field placements from community partners that align with social work values and the learning expectations for juniors through 2nd year MSW students. Facilitate a field placement process that balances student interests, learning needs, learning expectations and agency capabilities. Monitor and evaluate student field placements to ensure learning needs are being met, and work to resolve problems when they arise. Organize and implement annual field orientations for students and field supervisors. In partnership with group supervision instructors, review and update field assignments linked to field education courses. Teach one sequence of field education group supervision (BSW or MSW level). Maintain field education documentation and complete other administrative duties as assigned.
