This position directs, manages and coordinates the Department of Family Services, including Aurora@Home, and other assigned activities. It also coordinates the functions of these responsibilities with internal departments within AHA and with external partner agencies. In doing so, this role ensures the goals and objectives established by the Executive Director and Board of Commissioners are met for the successful accomplishment of AHA’s mission. Supervises departmental managers. Currently, one Manager is responsible for the resident services program known as Education, Community, Health and Opportunity (ECHO) and second Manager is responsible for Homeless and Housing Stability Services (case management). Engages in weekly supervisory check-ins with direct reports and plans and/or facilitates monthly Departmental meetings. In conversation with the Managers, the Director will also provide support for Case Manager meetings and ECHO Team meetings. Works with Managers to identify best practices for housing case management and resident services and supports Family Services staff members in learning and implementing these practices. Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures to guarantee the best possible outcomes for all Family Services programs including Aurora@Home. Applies for grant funding and administers grants to ensure proper reporting, documentation and record keeping for Family Services and Aurora@Home. Collaborates with appropriate staff members in the development of AHA’s 5 Year Plan and Annual Plans and any other agency wide tasks. Identifies community partners and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders for all AHA programs, with particular attention to Family Services and the Aurora@Home collaborative. Responds to resident/participant complaints and concerns and works to solve problems within Family Services. Works collaboratively with Property Management when there are resident concerns at AHA owned and operated properties. Participates in monthly financial review for Family Services program. Develops and manages the annual Budget for Family Services. Participates in the Aurora@Home task groups and when requested in the Aurora@Home Governing Board. Serves as the primary point of contact with Arapahoe County Human Services for the Family Unification Program (FUP) and Fostering Youth to Independence Program (FYI). Advises the Executive Director and makes policy recommendations on Family Services and Aurora@Home programs. Contributes to agency conversations regarding service-enriched properties and resident needs. Other duties as assigned.
