About The Position

Chevy Chase Club Director of Facilities Set on a beautiful 190-acre campus, Chevy Chase Club is a historic and distinctive social institution that has provided members, their families, and guests with recreation, community, and respite since 1892. The Club’s remarkable gardens, grounds, athletic venues, and clubhouse facilities offer year-round enjoyment for all ages. Position Overview: The Director of Facilities is responsible for the overall care, maintenance, and stewardship of the Club’s buildings, systems, and physical infrastructure. This leader oversees a preventative maintenance program, manages projects, ensures safety compliance, and supports an experienced team of maintenance and trade professionals.

Requirements

  • Significant progressive leadership experience in facilities management within a club, resort, hotel, or comparable campus environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and an anticipatory leadership style.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and willing to engage directly in hands-on tasks as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Stationary Engineers Grade I license preferred.
  • Recognized certifications in HVAC, Project Management, or related disciplines strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee care, maintenance, and repairs of all Club buildings and systems, including three historic structures.
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Lead and support a facilities team including: Assistant Engineer, Carpenter, Painters, Electrician, Plumber, Night/Weekend Maintenance Technicians, and an Administrative Assistant.
  • Manage capital and operational budgets, financial controls, and department planning.
  • Assist with project management efforts—from scoping through completion.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and standards.
  • Foster a departmental culture of teamwork, professional development, and collaboration.
