About The Position

Under the guidance of the Regional Director of Operations (RDO), the Director is responsible for the overall management of the Dining and Housekeeping Services Departments. The department will be operated within the established objectives, standards, policies and procedures as the guiding philosophy in the day to day running of the department and execution of the job description. The General Manager (GM) is responsible for operating the department utilizing the principles of team empowerment and for the development of the Client and company partnership. In addition, the GM will foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate the environmental service department with the facility plan of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Embraces Corework’s, as well as the philosophy of the community and utilizes these as the foundation for the operation of the departments. The GM understands the purpose of these principles and philosophy and uses them as a guide in his or her daily performance.
  • Utilizes approved Coreworks policies and procedures, as they apply to the assigned community, in the operation of the departments and develop community specific policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Financially accountable for the departments. The GM operates the department in accordance with the approved budgets, while providing the Client with maximum value.
  • Ensures community environment is in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition.
  • Ensures proper purchasing practices are followed and Coreworks Preferred Vendors are utilized.
  • Oversees functions and activities of the departments.
  • Conducts regular management staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate department activities.
  • Ensures the departments are in an “inspection ready” state at all times, assuring the departments operates within federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintains excellent relations with residents, Client and all community departments.
  • Oversees and actively participates in HOUSEKEEPING QA program.
  • Serves on community committees and professional organizations.
  • Ensures that competency in the position is maintained by participating in Coreworks and outside training programs, as required.
  • Follows all Client and community policies and procedures.
  • Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire Coreworks team and the community department employees at all times.
  • Implements change to departments programs that enhances the desirability of the community for current and future residents. Encourage and nurture associate creativity and innovation within the Coreworks Hospitality program.
  • Ensures appropriate security for all Client-owned property, supplies and operating funds.
  • Oversees hiring, retention, evaluations and terminations of department personnel.
