About The Position

IFS InfraSource is seeking a Director of Estimating with experience in the utility/pipeline industry. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, operational management, and accuracy of the company’s cost estimation and preconstruction functions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive estimating experience; At least 3-5 years in a management or leadership capacity is preferred
  • Technical proficiency: Advanced knowledge of B2W Estimating Software and other industry-standard software such as HCSS
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; Proficiency in technical writing/correspondence
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to travel regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Certifications: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Project Management Professional (PMP)

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate development of bids and proposals for the management and construction of underground steel and polyethylene natural gas transmission and distribution systems.
  • Oversee the execution of deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements
  • Manage the planning and executing of business development projects and contracts by organizing work methods and developing schedules
  • Identify cost elements related to project construction, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
  • Proactively identify known or anticipated construction problems and suggest solutions to minimize cost and mitigate risk
  • Develop project contingencies
  • Maintain open lines of communication and develop relationships with existing customers and subcontractors
  • Actively pursue future customers/additional work and follow up on potential leads
  • Support other regional business units by following leads
  • Oversee the financial components including the development of and execution of revenue growth goals, cost control measures, delivery of margin expectations, and reporting
  • Assist field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders as needed
  • Negotiate positive resolutions with customer on any disputes that may arise
  • Build and support a strong team culture, adhering to the company’s core values
  • Mentor direct reports for career growth
  • All other duties as assigned
