About The Position

The Director of Estimating will be responsible for the success of the Estimating Team by overseeing, reviewing, and managing Team members and the overall estimating process. This individual will lead the Estimating Team to maximize the accuracy, compliance, timing, and profitability of all Company estimates. The Director of Estimating is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the systems, technology, and training resources that empower Team members to positively impact the success of the company through better practices in estimating and estimate-related activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in construction, construction estimating, and/or insurance property claims
  • High degree of software and technology competency/aptitude
  • High School Diploma or GED (Secondary education preferred - not required)
  • Insurable driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Assist Estimating Team by preparing, reviewing, and submitting estimates with a high degree of accuracy and urgency that maintains the profitability and reputation of the Company.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team to ensure timely procurement of the information and documentation necessary to write and support estimates.
  • Assist Project Management Team with field documentation and preliminary budgets.
  • Monitor RMS compliance tasks to ensure we are meeting Company service and performance standards.
  • Conduct monthly Goal Setting & Review meetings (GS&R's) with Estimating staff.
  • Foster collaboration among Team members and create systems of accountability for direct reports.
  • Provide timely, continued education and training for the Estimating Team.
  • Ensure customer needs are served in a professional, consistent manner and that all correspondence is addressed, documented, and responded to swiftly.
  • Participate in business development efforts to strengthen and grow our relationship with carriers and adjusters.
  • Participate in collaborative efforts within the network to continuously redefine best practices in estimating.
  • Monitor new trends, developments, and entities within the industry that impact estimating & documentation.
  • Systematically adopt new technologies that serve to improve estimating efficiency - including Artificial Intelligence.
  • Assist in creating strategies that position the Company to quickly adapt and thrive amidst industry changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
