About The Position

Essential Functions: 1) Works with Director of Maintenance to complete general and preventive maintenance and ability to implement written policies and procedures of the department. 2) Ability to establish daily/weekly/monthly/annual routines and to follow up and evaluate staff performance of these daily/weekly/monthly/annual routines. 3) Ability to protect resident’s rights to assure fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy and dignity, as well as property and civil rights. 4) Ability to communicate with residents, family members, other staff members and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. 5) Ability to interview, hire and supervise associates. 6) Orient new associates and provide on-going in-service training as specified in the Environmental Services Policy and Procedure manual and to meet the needs of the Center. 7) Must have knowledge of all department equipment. 8) Must be able to understand basic Infection Control procedures. 9) Must be able to work on computer-operated washers and dryers and understand how these machines function. 10) Recognize and report any maintenance problems through the designated computed report form or other written means. 11) Function as a Department Manager with all responsibilities including participating in department head, quality assurance, infection controls, safety, and other committees/meetings. 12) Understands the attached Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions related to this position. 13) Must be able to keep computer/written logs for daily/weekly/monthly/annual work-related routings (i.e. floor stripping and waxing) and general upkeep of the physical plant. 14) Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsPhysical Requirements: 1. Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to kneel, crawl, reach, and grasp including climbing a ladder. 3. Ability to be on call to come to center, work alternative hours including nights, weekends, and overtime when needed. 4. Ability to pull, push and lift up to 100 lbs. 5. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions as required, hot, wet, cold etc. 6. Ability to work in confined spaces.
