About The Position

As the Director of Environmental Services, you are responsible for managing the environmental Services department within a hospital with an average daily cenus of 160 patients. You will lead a team of 37 hourly associates and 2 salaried associates including an assistant director and environmental services operations manager.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of director level leadership experience preferably in a hospital or related healthcare environment
Must have environmental services/housekeeping management experience in an acute care hospital or long term care facility
Floor care experience
Bachelors degree or equal related experience
Must have the ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
General business acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills and public speaking skills
High customer service and client relationship building skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet

Responsibilities

Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics
Monitoring of unit expenditures
Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget
Coordinates housekeeping activities with other departments
Actively communicates with administration and other hospital departments
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises functions and activities of the department
Establishes work standards and work flow
Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations
Encourages and mentor staff creativity and innovation
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies
Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives
Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans
Reads, develops, and administers Total Quality Management process
