About The Position

The Director of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) at Caterpillar Inc. is a strategic leadership role focused on enhancing and maturing the EHS culture within the Oil and Gas division. This position involves leading a global team of EHS professionals, providing guidance to the executive team, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations while promoting a culture of safety and sustainability. The role requires effective communication and influence with senior leaders, as well as hands-on involvement in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related field.
  • 8+ years of previous EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing or related field environment.
  • 3+ years of EHS leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of approximately ten EHS professionals.
  • Partner and provide strategic EHS guidance to the Oil and Gas executive team.
  • Implement, enhance, and oversee EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Identify EHS hazards and trends and establish methods to mitigate those hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices for EHS.
  • Communicate and report EHS performance and measures to senior leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance metrics.
  • Enhance EHS coaching and develop a robust learning culture for internal customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers through frequent communication and site visits.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory/governmental agencies.
