About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Enterprise Project Management to join our Transformation Office and oversee the Enterprise Project core functions including project intake, project management, project delivery, portfolio management, and all associated reporting. Working in direct collaboration with BerryDunn leaders across the enterprise (including Executive Leadership Team, Practice Groups Leaders, and Directors) you will identify appropriate project work and facilitate the completion of projects and digital transformation initiatives. You will manage and support the Enterprise Project Management function and staff guiding their development while ensuring compliance with both firm-wide and EPM-specific processes and procedures. This role will ideally be based in our Portland, Maine headquarters, or one of our other New England regional offices. This role reports directly to the Chief Transformation Officer. Travel Expectations: anticipated travel for this position will be 10-25% annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience managing large, cross-functional teams and complex projects
  • Experience in a highly regulated or industry-specific environment (e.g., technology, healthcare, finance, insurance)
  • Proven track record of driving project success and meeting organizational objectives
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management
  • Strong background with various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS)
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana, ADO, Trello, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications include, but are not limited to CAPM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, CSM, ICP, ACP, SAFe POPM
  • Experience in organizational change management or leading transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to work with senior leadership and influence strategic decision-making across an organization

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) team and set strategic direction.
  • Develop and manage the project intake and prioritization process to ensure efficient resource allocation, alignment with organizational goals, and synchronization of project portfolios with business objectives and executive priorities.
  • Provide governance by ensuring project standards and methodologies are followed, incorporating various methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and others as necessary to meet business initiatives and goals.
  • Secure executive sponsorship and manage enterprise-level risks.
  • Develop and track KPIs, OKRs, and other key metrics to drive project delivery, minimize risk, and provide transparency.
  • Evaluate project performance, identify and drive continuous improvements.
  • Set goals for and support team development.
  • Provide oversight of our portfolio and program management (e.g. M&A, office/construction, software selection and implementation, business process improvement).
  • Lead, mentor, and support the EPM team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define priorities, manage risks, and drive project success
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry best practices, and promoting continuous improvement.
