About The Position

Stratford School, part of Spring Education Group, is a leading independent WASC-accredited private school in California offering courses from preschool through 12th grade with a vision of creating a unique, multi-dimensional educational foundation for children. We seek a dynamic and visionary Director of Enrichment and Summer Programs who is passionate about designing exceptional student experiences beyond the classroom. This leader will build and oversee a comprehensive portfolio of after-school, athletics, competition-based, and summer offerings that reflect the rigor and creativity of a college-preparatory environment. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial educator who thrives in a growing school setting and sees opportunity in ambiguity. The Director will cultivate programs that not only enrich students’ academic, artistic, and athletic pursuits, but also provide meaningful platforms—through competitions, showcases, and contests—for students to demonstrate excellence, creativity, and leadership. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a classroom, program design, development, and management
Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Cultural competency and a commitment to fostering an inclusive community
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

Leadership experience in a school or youth-serving organization
Teaching, coaching, or youth program experience
Experience with competitive programs (academic, arts, athletics, or STEM)
Marketing, outreach, or program growth experience
Knowledge of child and adolescent development and experiential learning

Responsibilities

Design and lead a cohesive, mission-aligned enrichment program that includes after-school offerings, athletics, competitive teams, and summer programs.
Develop signature programs that position the school as a leader in extracurricular excellence within the region.
Identify and expand opportunities for students to მონაწილეობate in local, regional, and national competitions (academic, artistic, STEM, and athletic), including the creation of internal showcases and contests.
Partner with school leadership and faculty to ensure alignment between academic and enrichment experiences, supporting the whole child.
Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in enrichment, experiential learning, and youth programming.
Build partnerships with external organizations, leagues, and institutions to enhance program offerings and visibility.
Oversee the day-to-day execution of all enrichment, athletics, competition, and summer programs with a focus on quality, safety, and student engagement.
Recruit, hire, develop, and supervise program staff, coaches, and instructors; cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and recognition.
Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
Establish systems to track enrollment, participation, outcomes, and financial performance; provide regular reports and insights to school leadership.
Ensure all programs meet health, safety, and compliance standards, and align with school policies.
Manage logistics, including scheduling, facilities use, and procurement of equipment and materials.
Build strong relationships with students, families, faculty, and external partners to foster a vibrant and inclusive program culture.
Ensure clear, consistent communication with families regarding program offerings, student participation, and key events.
Serve as a visible ambassador for the school’s enrichment and summer programs, including leading tours and responding to inquiries.
Partner with Admissions to leverage enrichment and summer programs as key entry points for prospective families.
Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop compelling materials and campaigns that highlight student achievements, competitions, and program impact.
Elevate the school’s profile through strategic promotion of competitions, showcases, and student successes.
