About The Position

This position is a working Director of Engineering position and is responsible for leading the engineering functions within the aviation MRO organization for FCAH; ensuring technical compliance, operational efficiency, and regulatory adherence. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership for engineering, technical data, repairs, modifications, addition of repair capabilities and continuous improvement initiatives. The key leadership function of this position is to ensure we make the best use of our engineering resources across the organization and maintain a robust technical funnel. This position will also handle day to day coordination between operations at our Hot Springs MRO facility and external DER contractors. This will include interaction with our shop flop leadership with respect to additional repair opportunities not defined in the existing technical data that can be developed and implemented with external DER resources. The ideal candidate brings deep aviation engineering experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to partner closely with Maintenance, Quality, and executive leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of aviation engineering experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations and MRO engineering processes
  • Experience supporting aircraft or component maintenance, repairs, and modifications
  • Proven leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all engineering activities supporting MRO operations including new product development, new MRO capability development, tooling and equipment design, repair development, technical problem resolution and any other technical problems as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, Part 21, EASA, and customer technical requirements
  • Provide technical authority for repairs, alterations, and engineering dispositions
  • Ensure that engineering projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Manage the engineering project funnel and ensure compliance to all corporate approval processes
  • Provide regular reporting on active engineering projects
  • Ensure that all proposed engineering projects are properly vetted and follow the defined ROI process
  • Manage technical data, manuals, service bulletins, ADs, and engineering records
  • Support development and approval of repair schemes, DER/ODA coordination, and R&D initiativesPartner with Quality to support audits, regulatory compliance, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Planning to optimize maintenance execution
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams and technical staff
  • Support new capability development, certifications, and expansion efforts
  • Monitor engineering KPIs and resource utilization
  • Other duties as assigned.
