As the Director, this role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for hotel maintenance and operations, maintaining the hotels' physical assets, optimizing energy efficiency, and managing a team of skilled professionals to ensure guest and staff safety, comfort, and functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in resort or hotel management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial and operational goals.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using property management systems and other relevant software.
  • Ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions based on analytical thinking.
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications, including CRM systems and analytics tools.
  • Travel within the designated area as needed.
  • Knowledgeable about industry best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Meet NHHR background screening requirements.

  • A master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement an engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with the hotel's goals, focusing on efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Establish long-term plans for facility upgrades, improvements, and capital projects in collaboration with senior management.
  • Manage the engineering department, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide maintenance, repairs, and replacements of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Optimize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime by developing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate, plan, and supervise renovation, repair, and upgrade projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work with external contractors, architects, and engineers as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventories.
  • Maintain regular reports on engineering operations and ongoing projects for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and industry standards by establishing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
  • Make routine inspections to identify potential hazards and address them as soon as possible.
