Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years in engineering leadership or people management roles
- Proven experience leading full-stack engineering teams (backend, frontend, and/or mobile)
- Strong background in designing and scaling production systems in cloud environments
- Experience collaborating with product and data teams in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept to production
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on AI/ML-powered systems; exposure to computer vision is a strong plus
- Background in identity verification, fraud detection, fintech, security, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with modern backend and frontend technologies such as Java, Scala, Go, React, or TypeScript
- Experience operating systems on AWS and/or GCP
- Prior experience in high-growth startup or scale-up environments
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team of approximately 7–10 engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile disciplines
- Own the technical strategy and architectural direction for a core document verification product used by enterprise customers
- Partner closely with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and other cross-functional leaders to define roadmaps and deliver new capabilities
- Drive scalable, secure, and reliable systems leveraging cloud infrastructure and modern AI/ML techniques
- Maintain a hands-on leadership approach: reviewing designs, guiding technical decisions, and setting a high bar for engineering quality
- Mentor and develop engineers, fostering growth, accountability, and a strong team culture
- Translate business goals into technical execution while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
