About The Position

Directs workers engaged in maintaining and performing repairs to production equipment, processing, building grounds and structure, and support systems to include but not limited to Ammonia system, Reverse Osmosis water filtration system, HVAC, CO2, PLCs, boiler and any other support systems necessary for safe and proper production runs. Conducts position interviews for new hires and promotions and advises the Engineering Manager on recommendations for job offers and all recommendations for job status revisions. Conducts disciplinary and potential termination documentation and forwards with a recommendation to Engineering Manager for final review. Assist with 90-day and annual performance reviews of maintenance employees and forward to the Operations Manager for final input and approval. Managing parts inventory and purchasing tools, equipment, and supplies as needed. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications and standards including food safety requirements. Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces food safety and employee safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. M Maintains work order records within the MaintainX system.? Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Performs activities of workers supervised. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with industry relevant food and beverage experience in production management (minimum 5 years management experience in the maintenance function at a manufacturing plant required. Beverage experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, equipment and processing systems within the food and/or beverage industry).
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and electrical maintenance
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and Refrigeration systems
  • Strong understanding of Good Mfg. Practices, HACCP, etc. in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read and comprehend instructions and procedures in English.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends if necessary.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership through the ability to effectively provide conflict management, demonstrate adaptability and teamwork, develop employees and self, organize, planning and delegate when appropriate to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Provide continuous improvement through problem-solving and RCA/CAPA's.
  • Proficient in lock out tag out.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in TPM and CI-driven operating environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Food Safety knowledge preferred with the ability to attain Food Safety Training as a "Qualified Individual" within Krier Foods Food Safety Program
  • FESMA, PCQI, and Management System knowledge preferred.
