About The Position

Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software. Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design. We are seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering to spearhead the development of pioneering Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) verification and hot-spot prediction software. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of computational lithography and the ability to drive innovation in semiconductor process optimization.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD/MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of industry experience in OPC modeling, computational lithography, or related fields within semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of OPC software and methodologies, including machine learning applications for modeling and inverse lithography techniques.
  • Proficiency in numerical methods, computational geometry, and high-performance computing practices.
  • Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled C/C++ and CUDA programmer at the architect level.
  • ML experiences a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art GPU-based simulation and OPC/ILT engine.
  • Innovate within the field of computational lithography, addressing industry challenges such as sub-5nm nodes and EUV lithography.
  • Oversee diverse, cross-functional teams consisting of software engineers, data scientists, and physicists to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to translate semiconductor manufacturing needs into sophisticated software solutions.
  • Establish and maintain best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
  • Mentor and develop technical talent, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
