About The Position

The Director of Engagement and Student Success, is responsible for building, strengthening, and managing strategic partnerships and external relationships that support the enrollment, retention, and graduation of undergraduate students. This role serves as a key liaison across the university and other related stakeholders. The Director will design, implement, and evaluate initiatives that enhance student enrollment, engagement, and professional development while advancing the institution’s mission and reputation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in hitting enrollment targets.
  • Ability to communicate results to various audiences consistently and effectively.
  • Experience in an academic environment committed to the highest standards of academic quality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, customer service, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills; proficiency with variety of data systems, CRMs and social media platforms.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in higher education admissions/enrollment, including in a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership and mentoring skills, organizational skills and attention to detail, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, faculty, administrators and external constituents and to convey the value of a residential liberal arts and sciences education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct admissions visit programs to enhance visitor engagement, tour guide development, and yield of new students
  • Develop strategic initiatives related to marketing, messaging, inbound calls, and AI tools that heighten the experience potential students have with the Office of Admissions.
  • Represent the university at external events, meetings, and professional organizations to strengthen visibility and impact.
  • Collaborate with academic and student affairs leaders to integrate external partnerships into student success programming.
  • Design and oversee retention initiatives that connect students with experiential learning, career development, and/or mentoring.
  • Supervise professional and/or student staff as assigned.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and data analysis for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
