About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Director of Electrical Services at LJA Utilities, you will be responsible for leading and expanding our electrical engineering practice, with a focus on power transmission and distribution (T&D). This leadership role will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, developing client relationships, and driving strategic growth in the electrical infrastructure market. The ideal candidate is both a technical expert and business builder—capable of delivering high-quality engineering solutions while growing market share and strengthening LJA’s presence in the T&D sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering is required
  • Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 15+ years of specialized experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas using advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices in the water resources field.
  • Plans, coordinates, designs and direct projects with many complex features consisting of wastewater treatment plants, water supply plant design, sewage lift / pump station and force main design, water transmission lines, and storm water lift stations for both public works clients and municipal utility districts
  • Leads and participates with peers in business development efforts to grow the business from the ground up.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Ability to communicate and meet with various City Councils and Public Works staff.
