About The Position
Growing twin city firm looking to add a talented Director of Electrical Engineering!
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in electrical engineering
- 8+ years of experience
- PE License
- Effective meeting management skills
- Ability to build rapport/credibility with clients
- Ability to organize department in a way to meet project deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of Architectural, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering construction practices
- Working knowledge of cost/value for electrical building components for assigned scope of work
- AutoCAD and REVIT experience
- Strong knowledge of NEC and other relevant codes
- RCDD certification or a strong knowledge of Technology Systems design
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering documents/equipment specifications to meet scope of work and ensure application of Electrical Power, Lighting and Systems Design and Principles, and Data, Low Voltage, Security, Paging and clock systems
- Serve as project manager and oversee project team
- Ensure project stays within scope
- Mentor/train electrical engineers/designers
- Set department standards
- Performs quality control reviews of prepared plans, specifications, and documents, reviewing change orders, responding to RFIâs
- Assist with business development (proposals, meetings, presentations)
- Provide work direction to team members/subcontractors
- Approve final equipment selections/drawing submittals
- Provide technical/engineering support
- Construction administration duties including leading/attending meetings, reviewing change orders, responding to RFIâs
- Lead/attend meetings
