About The Position

The Director of Electrical Construction is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical construction operations across the company. This individual will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. The Director will serve as the company’s Master Electrician and will hold and maintain all electrical licenses required for the company’s operations.

Requirements

  • Master Electrician License (must be active and in good standing).
  • Ability and willingness to hold all electrical licenses on behalf of the company.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and safety regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and construction scheduling tools.
  • Problem Solving – Identify problems and work creatively in a team environment to resolve them.
  • Flexibility – Respond in a flexible manner to issues; reprioritize work as the situation demands.
  • Communication – Posses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Read and interpret communication styles of team members and clients who come from both technical and non-technical disciplines
  • Organization – Manage competing demands; organize workload to efficiently utilize time.
  • Software – Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Proficient in use of Primavera preferred.
  • Teamwork – Elicit feedback and cooperation from a wide variety of sources, project team members, other internal resources and client representatives.
  • Quality Focus – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve quality of project deliverables.

  • Requires ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving between departments or functional areas and clients for work production or service quality.
  • This position requires regular contact with employees in multiple internal departments and may require contact with client employees.
  • Incumbents will constantly; utilize written and verbal communication skills including active listening and speaking and reach and grasp objects.
  • Incumbents will regularly; experience periods of prolonged sitting, standing, walking, travel/drive a vehicle, and lift objects up to 25 lbs., and will occasionally lift object up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate office equipment such as computers, telephones, fax machines and copiers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the electrical construction division, including project planning, execution, budgeting, and staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Serve as the company’s Master Electrician, holding and maintaining all required electrical licenses.
  • Oversee permitting processes and ensure all electrical work is properly documented and inspected.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and implement best practices for electrical construction and maintenance.
  • Mentor and train electrical staff, ensuring continued professional development and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships related to electrical work.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes
