The Director of Educator Preparation Continuous Improvement will play a transformative role in enhancing educator effectiveness in Texas. This role is responsible for the strategic and operational development and execution of high-profile, high priority workstreams aimed at improving educator preparation quality. The director leverages their deep knowledge of best practices in educator preparation, change management, and strong project and talent management skills to develop strategic and innovative approaches for enhancing the quality of Texas's 120 educator preparation programs. They use both policy and support strategies to drive continuous improvement. The director leads and oversees priority workstreams within the Educator Preparation Upgrades strategic initiative. This includes developing the statewide Effective Preparation Framework, redesigning EPP rules and continuing approval processes, and managing the state's Educator Preparation Improvement and Innovation Center. Additionally, the director collaborates with senior leaders within the Office of Educator Support and across the agency to ensure alignment and integration with other strategic initiatives, including statewide frameworks and approaches to continuous improvement. The director performs advanced managerial work with limited supervision. They are responsible for communicating and interacting with state policy leaders, including the State Board for Educator Certification and the State Board of Education, as well as influential external policy leaders and philanthropic organizations. The director leads a team and reports to the Director of Quality Preparation.
