About The Position

The Director of Educational Technology at Discovery Schools is responsible for leading and innovating the development and implementation of a comprehensive technology-enhanced education program for Pre-K-12 students. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate technology effectively into the educational experience, ensuring that it meets the needs of all learners and aligns with Louisiana State Standards.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Educational Technology, Educational Leadership, or Curriculum and Instruction.
• Valid teaching certification/license.
• Experience working with students in a classroom setting (5+ years preferred).
• Knowledge of LEAP 2025 assessments and Louisiana Student Standards.
• Deep knowledge of computer software applications, Google Apps for Education, and high-quality educational learning programs.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
• Knowledge of ISTE standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Director of IT to ensure efficient District-wide technology operation at all sites and in all departments, timely resolution of tech support issues, software updates, and device maintenance.
• Evaluates emerging technology and assessment tools, and collaborates with district leaders on strategic and operational decisions involving instructional technology hardware, software, and programs.
• Develops and maintains effective communications and working relationships with administrative divisions and schools.
• Identifies needs and collaborates with EdTech staff and District and School-based administrators in developing technology solutions for instructional programs.
• Coordinates the District's Educational Technology Committee and provides leadership, direction, and coordination to the sites.
• Remains current with educational technological knowledge and skills through networking, membership in technology associations, and pursuing professional development opportunities.
• Coordinates development and implementation of district computer science and digital technology curriculum and program in partnership with the Executive Directors of Teaching and Learning.
• Designs and implements professional development as it relates to technology in partnership with district and school-based administration.
• Provides educational technology support for students and families.
