About The Position

Are you the Director of Education we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students! Swansea Wood School is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Swansea Wood provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Requirements

  • Masters in Special Education, or a related field required.
  • MA DESE license in Moderate Disabilities, grades 5-12 required.
  • A MA DESE Special Education Administrator license is required.
  • Supervisory experience in an administrative or leadership role.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Residential setting or Group Home experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Swansea Wood’s education department in hiring, supervising, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of related systems to support these tasks.
  • Work in tandem with Swansea Wood’s Clinical, Nursing, Residential Department and Administrative team to provide a shared vision of supportive and enriching programmatic services and to maintain positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties.
  • Provide leadership as a meeting chair, public school liaison, and among others.
