About The Position

Oak Hill is seeking an experienced Director of Education to provide leadership and support to certified, licensed, and non-certified staff in accordance with the agency's mission, vision, and goals. Position Overview The Director of Education ensures student development is maintained and directs and shapes the curricula and teaching processes at Oak Hill School. You will supervise staff and provide students with a safe, healthy environment conducive to learning. You'll be accountable for monitoring certified and licensed staff, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and overseeing the implementation of Oak Hill's educational and clinical model philosophies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and coursework required for appropriate certifications
  • 065, 165, or 265 Comprehensive Special Education or 061, 068, 070, or 071 Pupil Personnel Services Certification
  • 092 Intermediate Administration and Supervision Certification
  • Minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible experience in education administration, five of which are at the managerial level, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Excellent leadership coupled with interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize data
  • Ability to direct and present information to individuals and groups
  • Proficiency in technology
  • Mission-driven with ability to plan and follow projected vision to positive outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and directly monitor certified and licensed staff, ensuring accountability to the Education Administrator
  • Ensure staff adherence to State Board of Education SEED model and other relevant regulatory agencies (federal, state, local, and school systems as applicable)
  • Provide thorough staff observations and evaluations to maintain consistency in achieving day-to-day student educational requirements per Oak Hill School's educational and clinical model philosophies
  • Plan and oversee implementation of changes to current educational programming and introduce new programs
  • Oversee and anticipate students' changing needs through assessment, evaluation, trend review, and effective collaboration with certified and licensed staff to reach individualized educational goals
  • Co-chair Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, attend and participate in committees and PDAC, chair transdisciplinary team meetings and other meetings as necessary, and supervise documentation and follow-up
  • Ensure Oak Hill School accreditation requirements are maintained, and organizational goals and instructional programming are implemented with fidelity through effective monitoring, support, and development of certified, licensed, and direct care staff
  • Review all classrooms to ensure staff are working toward each student's established goals and objectives based on IEPs; ensure educational curriculum, medical, behavioral, and recreational activities align with Oak Hill School's educational philosophies and clinical model
  • Manage adequate staffing levels
