The Director of Dual Language Biliteracy Curriculum (3-5) role is an opportunity for an individual with deep content knowledge of simultaneous biliteracy instruction, a passion for curriculum, and a commitment to advancing social justice and culturally relevant pedagogy. This role will influence the future of bilingual program’s curriculum and instruction across KIPP Texas and beyond, playing a critical state-level role in driving improved student results by ensuring access to rigorous, excellent, grade-level curriculum in KIPP schools across Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. The General Role Description includes: Curriculum Design (using High Quality Instructional Materials (Amplify) as a base, designing instructional guidance for dual language teachers and instructional coaches), Curriculum Adoption & Selection (executing a scientific method for selecting bilingual curriculum tools and resources), Curriculum Vetting (executing a researched-based vetting process for alignment to standards, error-free content, and publish readiness), Curriculum-Instruction Connection (supporting instructional teammates in designing and reviewing professional learning materials), Assessments (creating high quality, aligned, standards-based formative, end of cycle and interim assessments), Data Analysis (progress monitoring and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to identify strengths and gaps and provide revisions), Professional Development (planning, reviewing, and/or facilitating virtual and in-person professional development on curriculum, instruction, and assessment analysis), and Instructional Coaching (directly coaching Assistant Principals of Student Support and School Leaders on effective strategies to support Dual Language KIPPsters to improve academic and linguistic outcomes).
