About The Position

The Director of Discipline is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective administration of student behavior management policies and procedures. This role involves maintaining and updating the Student Code of Conduct, policy guidelines, and the Student Handbook to align with current regulations and best practices. The Director of Discipline will also oversee the management of bullying resources and collaborate with school administration to clarify policy and process as needed. This position requires an in-depth understanding of educational laws, district policies, and student behavior management strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a campus leadership role.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Texas Principal Certification Required
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive organizational growth and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Policy and Legal Requirements
  • Maintain Student Code of Conduct. Update annually to ensure compliance withchanging policy and best practices.
  • Update MOU with JJAEP annually.
  • Update local policies, procedures, and regulations in collaboration with other District Leaders.
  • Maintain relevant portions of the Student Handbook.
  • Update bullying resources to reflect the latest changes in policies, procedures, and legal requirements, providing students, parents, and staff with clear and accurate information.
  • Training and Support
  • Provide clear communication and clarification on disciplinary policies and processes for students, parents, and staff as necessary.
  • Conduct training for school administrators and staff on Chapter 37 (Discipline Management) of the Texas Education Code to ensure compliance with state regulations and best practices in behavior management.
  • Support district PBIS initiatives through training and collaboration with other departments.
  • Supervision
  • Manage CTM team to ensure implementation of Student Code of Conduct.
  • Provide collaborative leadership to campus behavior coordinators to ensure seamless implementation of the SCOC.
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other Directors and District Leaders to achieve goals and implement best practices in different areas, such as: threat assessments, bullying, PBIS, special education, etc....
